Local amenities

Morley is located just 5 miles South of Leeds City Centre which means it’s always easy to get to all the major retail stores and take advantage of the best eateries, bars and clubs being on your doorstep. If the hustle and bustle of the city centre isn’t for you then the White Rose Shopping Centre, Leeds largest out of town retail outlet is just as close. It houses a Sainsbury, M&S Food, a variety of popular restaurants, cinema and even escape rooms.

Across Morley there are plenty of independent shops, the most popular being on Commercial street and Victoria road.  Supermarkets such a Morrisons, ASDA and ALDI mean that you can find everything you’ll need nearby.

 

Leisure and pleasure

It’s hard to miss the iconic Dartmouth Park which is located near the centre of Morley. Dartmouth Park, Morley Rugby Club and Morley Cricket Club have made the region between bruntcliffe road and corporation street a great place to walk, hang out with friends and family or make use of the various games in the area these include a football pitch, rugby pitch, cricket pitch and playgrounds. There is also a childrens amusement centre located near Morley seven hills primary school called munchkins soft play, Ideal for a family day out.

Activities and entertainment

Morley is best known for having the Morley Town Hall with its 120 year history on queen street taking a place of immense pride in the community. As if this wasn’t enough there is beryl burton gardens which is known for its dedication to beryl burton, a renowned female cyclist who was known for her record of riding 25 miles in 12 hours in 1967, the furthest anyone, man or woman had done before in 12 hours, it is also known for its greenery and is a place to take a seat for quiet contemplation.

There’s lots of choice around Morley with a recent infusion of facilities. The Junior Kitchen on Albion street offers childrens cooking classes for a fun time all year round. Cineworld in the White Rose Shopping Centre with IMAX for movie fans is a great addition for time to chill out. And for something a bit more fast paced there’s The Escapoligist where there are 7 different themed escape rooms also located in the White Rose Shopping Centre.

Travel links 

Travelling into the city centre is easily accessible by car, foot or bus. Those that need or want to travel further out of Leeds are well connected by the M621, M62 and M1. Regular buses run, taking you across Leeds.
