Local amenities

Hunslet is located just 1 mile Southeast of Leeds City Centre which means it’s always easy to get to all the major retail stores and take advantage of the best eateries, bars and clubs being on your doorstep. It houses a Morrisons, Lidl, a boots pharmacy and a variety of popular restaurants and cinemas.

Across Hunslet there are plenty of independent shops, the most popular being on balm road and church street.  And as mentioned before with supermarkets such as Morrisons and Lidl you can find everything you’ll need nearby.

 

Leisure and pleasure

Hunslet is home to the beautifully designed pepper road skate park which is located near the centre of Hunslet. Hunslet green community sports club and pepper road skate park have made the region between the A61 and the A639 a great place to walk, hang out with friends and family or make use of the various games in the area these include a football pitch and a rugby pitch. There is also a primary school called Hunslet carr primary school located on Woodhouse hill road.

Activities and entertainment

Hunslet is best known for having the Crown point retail park owned by the queen of England herself. located on junction street, taking a place of immense pride in the community. As if this wasn’t enough there is The john charles centre for sport which is known for its dedication to Leeds FC star john charles, a renowned footballer who is often compared to the greats such as  Pelé, Diego Maradona and George Best.

There’s lots of choice around Hunslet with a recent infusion of facilities. The royal armouries on armouries drive offers children a fun time all year round. Cineworld in the White Rose Shopping Centre with IMAX for movie fans is a great addition for time to chill out. And for something a bit more fast paced there’s The Escapoligist where there are 7 different themed escape rooms also located in the White Rose Shopping Centre.

Travel links 

Travelling into the city centre is easily accessible by car, foot or bus. Those that need or want to travel further out of Leeds are well connected by the M621 and A61. Regular buses run, taking you across Leeds.
