Our guide to living in Beeston

Beeston is popular choice for young professionals and families to live, being within easy reach of Leeds City Centre.

Local amenities

Beeston is located just 2 miles South of Leeds City Centre which means it’s always easy to get to all the major retail stores and take advantage of the best eateries, bars and clubs being on your doorstep. If the hustle and bustle of the city centre isn’t for you then the White Rose Shopping Centre, Leeds largest out of town retail outlet is just as close. It houses a Sainsbury, M&S Food, a variety of popular restaurants, cinema and even escape rooms.

Across Beeston there are plenty of independent shops, the most popular being on Beeston Road and Dewsbury Road. International Supermarkets such a Abu Bakr mean that you can find everything you’ll need nearby.

Leisure and pleasure

It’s hard to miss Cross Flats Park which covers 44 acres in the centre of Beeston. Friends of Cross Flats Park and Beeston in Bloom have made the park a great place to walk, hang out with friends and family or make use of the games area which includes football pitches, basketball courts and tennis courts, cricket pitch and playgrounds. It even hosts a weekly 5k Parkrun every Saturday morning.

Activities and entertainment

Beeston is known for being the home of Leeds United with their Football Stadium on Elland Road taking pride of place in the community. As if this wasn’t enough there is also John Charles South Leeds Stadium which is known for its indoor athletics centre, aquatics centre, indoor bowls courts and tennis courts.

There’s lots of choice around Beeston with a recent infusion of facilities. The recently opened Planet Ice on Elland Road offers ice-skating and ice hockey for a fun time on the ice all year round. Cineworld in the White Rose Shopping Centre with IMAX for movie fans is a great addition for time to chill out. And for something a bit more fast paced there’s The Escapoligist where there are 7 different themed escape rooms located in the White Rose Shopping Centre also. I
